It's good for what ails ya.

The week takes its toll.
The weekend's chores are daunting.
The idea of taking a few hours off in the middle of the day is guilt-inducing, self-indulgent.

But oh, the soothing balm of wineberries and blackberries,

and Mayapples, and elderberries, and sumac berries, and milkweed pods.

I feel much better.

Just in time for Monday.

Come one, come all!

I'm totally psyched to be speaking at the New York Public Library this Tuesday at 6:30 pm.  It's a free lecture at the Mid-Manhattan branch, so if you're interested in Backyard Foraging, this is a great chance to come see what it's all about.  And if you just have to know more...I'll be signing and selling books after the lecture, and passing out wild ginger snaps.

I hope I'll see you there!

elderflower champagne

Last weekend there were more blueberries, but I don't want to rub it in.  So instead, here's a peek at what I did with this year's elderflowers.  My video camera died mid-movie...hence the delay.

I opened the first bottle last weekend on a picnic with two new foraging friends.  I hope they liked it as much as I did.

Bet it would taste good with a few blueberries.
