the kitchen, revealed

It's been a busy month with too much travel. I long to be home, in the kitchen, cooking, brewing, preserving...doing the things that make me happy and grounded. Soon.

While we've been gone, Russ Cohen and his intrepid band of innovative contractors have re-made our kitchen into a wonderland of beauty and efficiency. When Russ says, "If it's made of wood I can do it," or "Don't worry, we'll figure out a way to make it work," he actually means it. I can't remember the last time I took someone's word when they promised to solve a problem. (I'm a control freak, oh-yeah-prove-it, kind of gal.) Russ has earned my trust and admiration. And now I will make him dinner in our new kitchen.

Note the special cat food & water area next to the dishwasher.

The tray dividers originally went all the way to the top of the cabinet,
which left unbearable wasted space. Russ fixed it.

ooo, the roll-out storage

and the soapstone countertop

I can't wait to get started.

ups & downs

Life can be treacherous.

And then...
