Thanks, Marie

I think it's pretty rare to meet a friend over the internet (a real friend, not a facebook friend). I actually think it's pretty rare to meet a friend, period. Yet I have the world wide web to thank for introducing me to Marie, of 66 Square Feet Gardening.

Marie is writing a series of interviews with gardeners for Shelterpop; lucky me got to be the first.

I like her writing even when she's not saying nice things about me.

Nice interview! By the way Liz, who you'll meet at the foragers potluck, was one of those internet friends.

Just read your interview with Marie. No wonder you and she are new friends. It sounded just like the real Ellen!

No deer on the roof gardens? No deer in Exeter either...but lots of new birds, thanks to our new feeders. Nature is terrific.

Delphiniums are pretty impressive, but lupin is not bad.

Love, Mum

Swell interview! You've come a long way from that humble, spath, Ms. E. You're right about no deer on NYC terraces, but oh the mocking birds.

I'm quite honored that you mention my little spot, but it's really mostly the spot.

And I do think it's deeply embedded in your genes ... gardening was just waiting for you. When you live where you can have a fig bush you'll have come full circle.

I mean to write and tell you how much I loved your interview.

I live for personal details, so my appetite was happily sated.

Nice getting to know you a little better.

Jane

Funny, I thank the web for the same reason. ;-)
